Return
Go back deliberately. Name the people, places, and practices that shaped you before you were old enough to choose them.
"What wisdom, memory, teaching, skill, or value has been forgotten?"
Se wo were fi na wosankofa a yenkyi โ it is not taboo to go back and fetch what you forgot.
Sankofa is an Akan concept from Ghana, expressed both as a proverb and as an adinkra symbol โ a bird turning its head backward to take an egg from its own back, or a stylized heart form. It teaches that returning for what was left behind is wisdom, not regression.
Sankofa is West African and Ma'at is ancient Egyptian. Placing them side by side here is a deliberate comparison across traditions, not a claim that they share one origin.
